Happy New Year everyone!

Tonight looks to be nice and mellow. I hope you all have a good evening and a chance to reflect and enjoy the parades and games and whatnot.

AND… Just when I thought I couldn’t get any geekier…

I’m a Ravenclaw!

So uh… Yikes. I obviously need to get out more. ;-)

The Two Towers was, as a coworker put it, relentless. My goodness what a powerful piece of film. I won’t go into the “but in the book it…” line, but just enjoy the movie for what it was… powerful.

Lots of people are back at work today. I kind of miss the quiet of last week. *heh* There will be at least one meeting today, but apart from that, I’m going to be sorting out specs for one of my coworkers to implement. I’d seriously like the week off, but want to save the vacation time for something later.

Ahhh… delayed gratification… BLEAH!

Today’s fun fun funstuff… Recycling, shopping, car washing, vacuuming, sweeping, prep-cooking. The actual fun was building with Legos and playing a nice, new board game.

I’m going out to see The Two Towers tonight. *bounce* There have been lots of previews, and lots of talk and hype, but I’m really looking forward to seeing it for myself.

There are a few projects I want to work on Really Soon Now… one of them is adding some customizability to this site. Choosing colors, adding personal links, and maybe even linking in headlines from places like cnn.com and slashdot.org might be good.

Even though I haven’t been moaning about it too much on this site lately, I really wish I could spend some time hanging out with my favorite Texan. Just in case you were curious.

The family photo shoot was quite entertaining. My kiddo got to open the last of his Christmas presents, the family got to do lots of laughing and hugging, and I drove home through a snow storm. All things considered, it was a great day.

Today, I expect, will be very quiet. Anyone want to bring over a cot? I could use some quality nap time at work today. ;-)

Happy Day After Christmas! I had a lovely holiday and I hope you did as well. The service at my brother’s church was amazing, I got to hang out with siblings I hadn’t seen in ages, and got to play video games and act like a kid.

Tonight we’re going to do a family picture and stuff. I think that should be fun.

It is SO time to get out of here. Christmas Eve dinner, followed by a trip to KC for church… I think sleep should be included in here somewhere, but I don’t seem to have any ready to go…

I e-mailed an old friend today. I guess I don’t necessarily expect a response, but it felt like a big step to write her.

I went hog-wild this evening and converted the whole site over from SSI “static” code to HTML::Mason (Perl). I also added registration/login capability. Please, if you create an account here, don’t make it with a password you use anywhere else. Actually, that’s good advice in general.

Right now registering doesn’t give you anything extra. Eventually, though, you’ll be able to customize the interface, add boxes of your own stuff, and whatnot. Let me know if you have any problems with the new site!

Last night was a blast. I laughed so much that my throat hurts this morning. ;-) Figures… But hanging out with all of my siblings and exchanging gifts and working on math puzzles… that was a great way to spend the evening.

Today I’m at work. Hmmm. I don’t know what everyone expects to get done this week. My brain is still jelly from lack of sleep. But cheers to you and yours!

Another day, another dollar… or something. I spent several of them today on presents, food, and movies. OH! And I paid bills today. Go me. *buffs his nails*

One nine-mile river-trail bike ride and a delicious lunch with friends pretty much made my day.

Seriously… does anyone know how to get started as a tutor? Word Of Mouth? Advertise in the paper? If you have any clues, please let me know. :-)

Here’s to a happy holiday!

Wishing you and yours a Merry New Year and a bit o’ Christmas Magic.
