Snow?

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

What in the world is this? Yesterday, the day of the vernal equinox, we had sleet and rain in a fairly constant manner. Today, the first full day of spring, we’ve got an inch or so of snow on the ground? Does anyone else think this is nuts?

GAH!

In better news, I’m back from Nashville where I attended a conference and now I’m working on lots of little things. Someone hand me a pillow… I think I feel a nap coming on.

In Like a Lamb…

It’s been such an amazingly nice winter (modulo the week or two that the temperature was below zero with horrid windchills) that I’ve really enjoyed myself. The big maple in our front yard has little buds appearing, several types of lillies have sprung up in the back yard, and in general the world (or at least our temperate slice of it in this part of the northern hemisphere) looks like it’s ready to go through another birth cycle.

I consider that a good thing.

Today I’m sitting at work and reflecting on the joy in my life. Friday was a Special Day and several people from my family got together and had a special dinner. Sunday was another Special Day and lots of people from my family got together and had cake. I got to toss a football around with my boys and my wife. I got four new tires put on my car.

That last item might not seem like such a special thing, but considering how bald they were, I’m very excited about how much better my car handles now. :-)

All in all, the week and weekend were some of the best days I’ve had all year.

Each day is a blessing. Enjoy it before it is lost.
